Main Tank: Heroics

I did 2 heroics the past two night with my main Prot Pally.

The first night, I helped out a guildie in Sethekk Hall for his druid epic flight quest.
I actually 2-box a Frost Mage and it went well. The Mage died once due to a double fear and it ran into a pack which I had to release and run back. Prot Pally, Frost Mage (2-box), Enhanced Shaman, Resto Shaman, and Resto Druid.

The second night, we did Heroic Ramparts for the daily quest. I did not have to 2-box this time, we had a real Mage with Prot Pally, Enhanced Shaman, Resto Shaman, and Resto Druid. I looks like this is a Team Heroic.

Team Shaman: Old Hillsbrad

I completed Old Hillsbrad last night and it was a fun challenge. 70 Prot Pally + 70 Frost Mage + 2x 67 Elemental Shamans + 66 Resto Shaman.

I figured out how to pace the waves with Thrall being a noob. Setting Thrall as focus allows my shamans to cast Earth Shield and Healing Wave on him as needed.

I also let Thrall tank the last mob in the wave, and I setup my totems before the spot of the next wave. I would regen some mana and heal up before I finish the last boss. I'd have time to drink a few ticks before Thrall starts combat. Setting up a focus for sheep also helps.

I also used Earth Elementals. Next time I will stagger them: 1 in the upstairs inn, and 2 for the dragon waves.

I started Black Morass but I did not really had time give it a serious attempt. I mostly farmed the spiders for their Netherweb Silks. Too bad I don't have a skinner.

Team Shaman: Level 63/64 to 66/67

I was hoping I can hit 70 from level 63/64 but I only ended up at level 66/67. Azhat is 66, Azzhat and Aszhat are 68. They were escorted by my 70 Prot Paladin, and a 70 Frost Mage.

Since my goal was to get to 70, I also wanted to be honored in the factions where I can get my starter PvP gear. I am relady honored in Thrallmar and Cenarion Expedition at this point.

I started doing the Terrokar Forest quest doing the quests in Stonebreaker Hold, Refugee Caravan, and Sha'Tari Base Camp. I then completed all the quests in Mana Tombs, Auchendai Crypt, Sethekk Halls, and even the first boss in Shadow Labs. I hit honored in Lower City.

I also did one clearing of Underbog and Slave Pens for the quests for quests.

I started doing the Nagrand quests when I stopped last night.

After I do most of the Nagrand quests, I will do the Keepers of Time quests.

Mana Tombs

I tried 3-box Mana Tombs before with Prot Paladin, Holy Paladin and Shadow Priest and it sucked bad, being under-manned, under-powered in dps, and under-levelled.

Enter the 70 Prot Paladin, 70 Frost Mage, 64 Resto Shaman, and 2x 65 Elemental Shamans. It was a breeze. I actually cleared it twice.

Pandamonius was the first boss, a huge void walker who does shadow damage and some spell reflect.

The second boss was some rock giant and my dps output was more than his thread to kill my tank.

The last boss, Shafar had these orb adds. I died the first attempt because one of the shamans kept running forward and I was not done with the pre-setup. The next attempt killed the 4 guys and my tank finished the last 5%.

Sethekk Halls

I actually did Sethekk Halls next because it had quests associated with it. The first boss Syth was easy.

The last boss was a bitch. I wiped at least 5 times versus that last boss. His Arcane Explosion kills the 3 Shamans on follow, just too slow to hide behind the pillars. I fixed this issue by positioning my guys to strafe against a pillar, and it worked enough for them to dps and survive a few Aracane Eplosions. It took some focus fire lightning bolts, elemental pets, and lots of chain heals.

Underbog & Slave Pens

I went and did Underbog and loaded my Rogue Herbalist to pick up Sangiune Hibiscus after.

And then I did Slave Pebs with ease. The first Boss, Menuu was not bad as I thought. I can't tell if my totem killing macro worked because I just manually target it with my tank and have everyone assist.

Rockmar was easy also, with 3 shamans able to heal, and I only got one grievous wound when he died.

The clear to Quagmirran was harder. Those 5-packs were somewhat of a threat. But I had the mage sheep one using focus target, and I just burned down one target at a time with generous Tremor and Grounding Totems.

Auchenai Crypts

I went to the Crypts next without any quests and I was impressed with my team. The spawned adds just dissintergrate with chainlightning and frost shocks. I had no tactic when dealing with bosses so I just brute force dps and chain heal as needed.

I was also hoping the Raging Skeleton would drop the 12 agility boots enchant, but no luck. Myabe next time?

Shadow Labs

My Lower City faction was close to Honored by the time I hit Shadow Labs, and I went in to kill the first boss. Man, that fight was nuts due to fear and miss tremor totems. My strat worked when I fought the boss in the end of the hall in his pathing. From there, it's easy to orient the boss and the shamans to face the right way.

Alchemy 1 of 3

Instead of leveling last night, I decided to gather enough herbs and use my reserves to power level Alchemy for Azzhat from 1 to 300. I did spend some money int he Auction House.

While I was in Ogrimmar, I got the level 64 training for all Shamans.

I did the IQD and SSO Pack quest, but skipped the Ogrila dailies. A guildie gave me 8 Primal Water and 8 Primal Life and I cranked out 12 Primal Mooncloths, and also used up the reserves and created 4 total 20-slot Primal Mooncloth Bags.

Underbog

I got Team Shaman started in Underbog and got 3 quests done. I forgot to grab the quest given outside, but I plan to do this place again. I also had the Rogue who is my herbalist parked outside. After clearing Underbog, I logged in my Rogue and proceeded to herb the place, specially the Sanguine Hibiscus. I think I ended up with 47 Sanguine Hibiscus after 2 runs. Some looted from killed mobs, and the rest from herbing.

I used the Sanguine Hibiscus for my Holy/Disc priest to get revered and picked up the Transmute Primal Earth to Water. But I transmuted Earth to Life instead--too tired! I ended the night doing the IQD, 3 SSO pack, and the new Ata'mal Armaments daily. I made over 1000g that night.

Ogrila Daily Quests

I started the evening by pooling my gold and I was around 4200 gold! I then proceeded to do IQD dailies, and the 3 SSO packs in Outlands. I skipped Skettis and went straight to Ogrila.

I did the daily quests available for my Prot Pally, Holy Pally, Holy/Disc Priest, and Arms Warrior. I then switched to my Combat Mace Rogue in the same account as my Holy Pally. Soon, the server daily quests reset so I decided to push my gaming for the evening and do the Ogrila Daily quests. I think I ended up with over 5600g because my Rogue had 700g on him, lol.

I can buy a 4th epic flyer and it will be for the priest. This means my Holy Pally will not be doing Outlands and I'll use the Rogue instead. Perhaps I need to re-spec the Priest to Pure Holy.

I do not have a specific plan for the Holy Pally other than he was originally for Team Heroics.

Upgrades and Dailies

I feel spread out between lots of characters across 4 accounts, but each areas of interest have progress.

70 Arms Warrior -- I got gems to upgrade the shoulders and Bulwark of Ancient Kings. I will get legs tonight, but I will need Nethrecobra Leg enchant.

70 Combat Mace Rogue -- I will get legs tonight as well and the enchant. His herbalism works great as I did Skettis daily, farm some Mote of Water, and kill that elite tree for good skinning drops.

70 Prot Paladin -- His my main tank, and complete in his Ret gear. I still need Leg enchant, and a few more gems.

70 Holy Disc Priest -- no epic mount, and he will get his next. Prayer of Mending is nice to have with 3 melee. I think it's less micro-healing with him. He needs a +Healing weapon enchant. Primal Water and Life.

70 Holy Paladin -- I'm am thinking I should go Holy Shock build, but I should stay prot for Badge Instance farming someday. He will get his helm today. I need to run him on some BGs. No epic flyer, and probably will never get one. Perhaps focus in PvE for this toon from now on. He will be my jewel crafter.

I began the evening doing dailies in IQD, and then did the 3 SSO packs, gained about 600g.
I did another 3 SSO pack for my 70 Rogue, then did a daily on the Spirit Towers.
I farmed 15+ Netherweb Silks, then did the 2 Skettis daily. I farmed 3 Primal Water and killing mobs for more Skettis factions, and that elite tree that can be herb'd.

I ended the evening farming 12 Cobrascales for my needed Legs enchants. They were selling for 20g each, so that's 240g worth in about 1-2 hours, not a bad savings to gold/time investment.

I need 24 Primal Air, now that's gonna suck. They sell for 30 to 40g each, if they are 25g, I'd buy them.

Team Shaman

Azzhat and Aszhat are 64, and Azhat is 63. I am almost done with Zangarmarsh quests, and got most of my initial Outlands gear upgrades via quests.

I also completed Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace.

I will work towards Cenarion Expedition quests and dungeons next. And also Sporeggar.

I'm thinking I can get Azhat catch up with the 2 Shamans by grinding Blood Furnace and Ramparts with Gemstar and Joiya.

Ogrila Quest Line

I completed the Ogrila Quest line over the weekend, 5-box style.
I had a Prot Pally, Holy Pally, Holy/Disc Priest, Arms Warrior and Frost Mage.
I also had a Combat Rogue in the same account as the Holy Pally that I log in to loot the quest item.

The first 3 giants were straight tank and spank.

The event where 5 people enter the rings of fire, 4 of my guys died, and the prot pally bubbled to kill the boss.

The summoned event, I failed several times. I had the right position so that I can agro the spawned ogres trying to kill the summoning thing. But I wiped after the giant comes. The good news is that the giant stays around, so my guys res up and kill him. The giants proceeds to spawn more ogres though during the fight, and my holy pally died. By the time I res him up and loot and log into my rogue, the quest item despawed.

I summoned the giant a 2nd time and wiped, res, kill and manage to log in my rogue to loot the final quest item.

Between my prot pally and arms warrior, I had over 2,000 Apexis Crystal Shards. I summoned the Guardians in Ogrila and farmed 2 epic mail gloves, and 2 epic cloth bracers.

Blacksmithing

After doing my dailies last night, I end up finishing blacksmithing on my warrior from 361 to 375. I also upgrades from Breastplate of Kings to Bulwark of Ancient Kings.

Herbalism and Dailies

I pooled my gold and got 5200 to buy my 70 Rogue his epic mount last night. I then flew to Thrallmar and trained Master Herbalist 300/375. I spent 3 hours skilling up Herbalism to 351, while doing Nagrand Googles Reading, Sunfury Attack Plans, and Eye of the Storm PvP Daily quests. I also did a few more Battle Grounds with the guild, won some Arathi Basin, and Warsong Gulch as well.

I ended the evening by spending another 2 hours 4-box questing. It was my first time to do the Bashir Landing collection quest for the SSO pack. It was quite painful for 4-box, collecting 10. And with my bad random seed, I got zero Badge of Justice from 12 SSO packs.

More Daily Quests

I started the evening with getting to 350 Tailor to create more Primal Mooncloth. Joiya, Gemstar, Azzhat, Aszhat and Azhat are all 350+ Tailor. A guildie has 375 tailor so all I need is to get Netherweb Silks for 20 slot bags. And ofcourse getting Primal Life and Primal Water.

I then started doing dailies:
1. Nagrand Goggles Reading
2. Sunfury Attack Plans - Netherstorm
3. Throne of Kil Jaeden - Blood for Blood
4. Throne of Kil Jaeden - Blast the Gateway

Then to the Isle of Quel'Danas
5. Bombing Run

18. Throne of Kil Jaeden - Blast the Gateway

I also went to buy arena s3 pants

Team Shaman

It was Alterac Valley weekend, but I did not feel like running my 61-62 Shamans there to get slaughtered by the 70s. So I decided to level a few, and get the tradeskills up.

My 70 rogue had Blacksmithing, which I dropped for Herbalism. I then raise Herbalism up to 300. In the process, I got about 10 stacks of Mageweaves.

I then proceeded to skill up Tailoring on all the shamans. 63 Azzhat is 350 and created his 2x Primal Mooncloths. 62 Aszhat is 345, because I mis-calculated how much I need to get to 350. I actually created more Imbued Netheweaves than necessary. 62 Azhat is at 340.

I did managed to get them a level over the weekend, and also got most of the Outland quest gear upgrades. I have a few more Zangarmarsh items and I will begin the instance grinds.

I will then check which quest line opens Blood Furnace. Then I will do both Ramparts and Blood Furnace instances done for xp and faction.

After that, I plan to hit Slave Pens and grind there for xp and faction.

Daily Quest

Last night, I switched my focus on doing daily quests. My performance was less than satisfactory, but it was a learning experience.

My main paladin and warrior both have epic mount. My priest and holy paladin only have the normal mount, and flying around via follow was a nightmare.

I grabbed the Goggles Reading, and Sunfury Attack Plans in Shattrath. I bought a flight to Stonebreaker Hold in Terrokar and . From flew to Skettis, more or less manually with the normal mounts.

At Skettis, the holy paladin and priest took the Feed the Netherrays, and skipped the Shadow Dust collection. The Bombing was a nightmare. I found the best solution for mixed speed mounts is to just park the clones up one tower where there was 4 spawns, and use my main to bomb that re-spawns.

I did not find the Prisoner Escort quest, so I just headed to complete the feeding of the Nether Rays. I left for Nagrand Oshugun area for the Googles Reading quest. I flew manually again and landed in the same area.

At Oshugun, Nagrand, I used the land epic mounts to move from one read cloud to another; then I ran back to Garadar and took a flight to Netherstorm.

At Netherstorm, I rand via land mount to kill Sunfury neat Manaforge Coruu. After that, I flew south to Hellfire.

At Hellfire, I was more or less clueless as to where to go. I went to the zone in portal, then flew back down to the Throne of Kiljaeden. I manged to kill my holy paladin twice as he flew nead the bad ass demon, lol. My warrior also died as I got them in auto flight and I hit "Alt C" which dis mounted them when my main paladin found the quest NPC.

At the Throne of Kiljaeden, my main was the only only one who can do the Blood For Blood, and Blast the Gateway quest. I hearthstoned back to Shatt and turn in the quests.

I then logged in my Rogue who is in the same account as my Holy Paladin. I solo the Skettis quest, did Nagrand readings, rode to Garadar, flew to Netherstorm. It was late and I fell asleep as my rogue was auto running. I awoke to witness him falling to his death off the edge of the island in Netherstorm on the way to Manaforge Coruu. After a spirit res, I killed a few Bllodelves for the Sunfury Attack Plans. I hearthstone back to Shattrath, and turned in the quest.

What a long evening.

Gem, Enchants, Daily Quest, & Battlegrounds

The past 2 nights, I just spent gemming, enchanting, doing some daily quests, and playing in the battlegrounds.

Among those I got enchanted and upgrade are my level 3x 60-62 shamans, 70 Priest, 70 Holy Paladin, 70 Arms Warrior and 70 Sub Rogue.

Last night, I re-spec to Retribution from Prot on my Paladin, and enjoying the kills and damage.

This means, I lay off the instance grinding and I will just escort Team Shaman in questing, ungrouped. I still have Team Mage also.

Hellfire Peninsula

Alright, I'm back in Outlands, Hellfire Peninsula for some questing.

#4 Azhat is almost 61. He's my bottleneck in the group as some of the quest aren't available to him yet, but my other two: #1 Azzhat 61, and #2 Aszhat 62 can. An example quest is the escort quest of that caged guy in the bird area, south of Falcon Watch.

In my dismay, I missed to finish a collection quest for Aszhat, but since he's higher level, that's ok. I plan to go back there anyway as soon as Azhat hits 61 later. I think he's 60.80% now.

Other than that, I got my gear upgrades progressing well. I started grinding some more in Blood Furnace. I also started dropping the level 70 paladin so the xp per kill is a bit higher when killing mobs outside.

Another quest line at 61 is the Colossal Menace which has another gear upgrade, and Totems. With my 4 guys, I cap the Towers in Hellfire rather fast. I think I will do that this week to get a nice trinket out of it.

I'm in a dillema of whether to keep on levelling the 3 shamans, or play with the 2x 60 Mages...

Back to LBRS, then Outlands

I was not happy with the xp gains grinding Blood Furnace with the 55 Shaman with level 60s and 70s. So, I went back to LBRS and grinded some xp until level 57.80%

My dps was also lacking since I was not running 2 Mages and wiped many times in the "bonus pull." The bonus pull was to shield pull the troll below just before the ogres. They path around and come with lots of troll axe throwers that knock back, troll priests that hex, and 3 ogre adds that are just beefy. With 2 mages doing blizzards, they die fast. But with only 1 mage, the dps was not enough to kill the priest and start chain hexing that kills the party.

After LBRS, I went back and cleared Blood Furnace twice. I tested the ultimate xp. With 3 Shaman level 58, 60, and 60, they were getting 300-400 per kill versus 61 elites. When I tested a level 58 tagging a 61 elite solo, he was getting over 1000 xp per kill. But the pulls are more than 1 so he dies fast without proper cc and focus fire. This is hard to do via multi keyclone. It was better to just have the paladin AoE and Mage to focus fire the entire instance. I might try this later on in Shadow Labs.

After 2 runs in Blood Furnace, I hit Outlands Hellfire Quest. I logged off last night at 59.95% with a quest to turn in. And my gear has been upgraded well enough. Time to retire the "asshat" Whitemane's Chappeau.

Friday, April 4, 2008

Blood Furnace

I cleared Blood Furnace once last night, but mostly trying to see if my level 70's dropping from group and having the lowbies "tag" the mobs, and kill all of them within 60 seconds.

I did not see much improvement over the xp gained in those kill. I was running a level 60, 60, and 56 with 2 level 70s. I need to test this some more.

After that, I single play my Prot Paladin and knock off Skettis and Netherstorm daily quests.

Woot! Outlands...

I have been leveling #4 Azhat Shaman and hit level 55 last Sunday night. I rolled Azhat 2 Sundays ago! The end result was I have #1 Aszhat 60 Shaman, #2 Joiya 59 Mage, #1 Gemstar 58 Mage, and#2 Azzhat 59 Shaman.

I spent some time doing Scholomance, and turning in Bone Chips, Crypt Fiend Parts, Dark Iron Scraps and Elemental Cores in Eastern Plagueland, Lights Hope Chapel.

I also cleared some normal 5-man Magister's Terrace with my Prot Paladin with guildies.

I started grinding mobs in Blood Furnace, and tweaking my focus fire macro. I hardly do AoE Blizzard pulls now. It is less chaotic and 2x Chain Lightning is fun.

I will need to re-spec Azzhat and Aszhat to Elementals, re-spec Joiya to Arcane/Fire for High DPS, and Gemstar to Frost with Improved Frostbolts and Winterchill.

I will re-spec Azhat to pure Resto instead of putting points in Elemental.

I will also need to work on my PvP macro of staggered Grounding and Tremor Totems via cast sequence.
